VVetMyProposalHow it works

HOW IT WORKS

Understand your contractor proposal in three steps.

VetMyProposal is a free tool for homeowners. Upload the roofing, solar, HVAC, or window proposal a contractor sent you and get a plain-English read on what is included, what is missing, and what to ask before you sign. No account, no cost, and your document is not stored.

1. UploadDrop in your contractor proposal or quote as a PDF, or paste the text.
2. ReviewThe AI reads it and flags risks, missing terms, vague scope, and payment concerns.
3. Second opinionOptionally get connected to a vetted local pro for a free second opinion.

STEP 1

Upload your proposal or quote

Most contractor proposals arrive as a PDF by email or text. Save that file and drop it into the analyzer on the homepage, or paste the proposal text directly if you only have it as a message. PDF uploads are limited to 20 MB. You do not need to create an account, and you do not need to enter any payment details, because the analyzer is free for homeowners.

If your proposal covers roofing, solar, HVAC, or windows, the review goes deepest, because those are the categories we focus on. Other project types still get a useful read on scope, price, and terms.

STEP 2

The AI reads it and flags what matters

Once your document is uploaded, the tool classifies what kind of proposal it is, then extracts the facts that decide whether a quote is fair and complete. Every fact it reports cites the page and the exact wording from your document, so you can check it yourself. When something is not stated in the proposal, the tool marks it UNKNOWN rather than guessing.

Here is what the review looks at:

From those facts, you get a short list of red flags, a list of what is included versus missing or unclear, and a set of questions to ask before you sign. The goal is not to tell you the contractor is bad. It is to make sure you know what you are agreeing to.

STEP 3

Optionally get a free second opinion

Because you already have a real proposal in hand, you are in a strong position to compare it against another qualified pro. If you want that, you can opt in and we will connect you with a vetted local contractor for a free second opinion in your project category and area. This step is entirely optional. You can read your full report, take your questions back to your original contractor, and never request a second opinion at all.

DISCLAIMER

Important limits

VetMyProposal is decision-support software. It is not legal, financial, engineering, insurance, or contracting advice, and it is not a substitute for a licensed professional. The review is generated by AI from the document you provide, and AI can make mistakes, so always confirm anything important against your contract and a qualified expert before you sign.

Your document is processed by AI only long enough to build your review, and is then discarded. It is not stored, saved to an account, or kept in a project. Nothing from your upload is retained after the review is generated.
