Pool resurfacing quotes, lined up item by item.

One quote says "resurface pool". Another lists the finish, the tile, the coping and a startup plan. Describe your pool once. We ask up to 8 licensed pool contractors based in or near your city to price the same job in writing, and we line up their replies. Your name, email and phone stay private.

$99, with a money-back guarantee. Fewer than 3 quotes in 10 days and your $99 comes back, automatically. About 5 minutes to start.

Why pool quotes are hard to compare.

"Resurfacing" can mean a new coat of plaster and nothing else, or a full refresh with tile and coping. The total only makes sense once you know which.

Where quotes quietly differ

  • One quote is for white plaster, another for a quartz or pebble finish, and the product is not named.
  • Waterline tile is replaced in one quote, cleaned in another and not mentioned in a third.
  • Coping is kept, repaired or replaced, often without saying which.
  • Draining, chipping out or bond coat, and the acid wash are spelled out or simply assumed.
  • Startup and chemical balancing after the new finish is included, extra or left to you.

What we ask every pool contractor to spell out

  • Finish type and the product: plaster, quartz or pebble
  • Prep: draining, chip-out or bond coat, and the acid wash
  • Waterline tile: keep, clean or replace, and the tile
  • Coping: keep, repair or replace, and the material
  • Steps, lights, fittings and drain covers
  • Startup and chemical balancing after the new finish, and who pays for the water to refill
  • Any permit your city requires, cleanup, warranty years, start window and total

Anything a pool contractor leaves out shows on your page as "Not mentioned in this quote".

How it works

One spec, priced the same way by every pool contractor, so the totals are finally comparable.

  1. Answer a few questions and add photos.City and ZIP, the pool's rough size and shape, the current finish, the finish you want, tile and coping plans and your timeline.
  2. Pay $99.We then write a one-page spec from your answers and photos.
  3. Review and approve the spec. You can ask for changes. Nothing is sent until you approve it.
  4. We send it to up to 8 licensed pool contractors near you. Each contractor is asked to price the same job and list the finish, prep, waterline tile, coping, startup, warranty, start window and total.
  5. Replies land on your comparison page.We email you as each one arrives. Anything a contractor left out shows as "Not mentioned in this quote", with a question you can ask them.
  6. You decide what to do next.Tap "Introduce me" on a quote you like and we pass your name and email to that contractor only. Or run any quote through our proposal analyzer, or do nothing.

What moves the price

Resurfacing prices depend on a handful of choices. These are the ones we ask every contractor to state, so you can see what you are paying for.

  • The finish: plaster is usually the lowest-priced, quartz sits in the middle and pebble is usually the highest
  • The size of the pool surface, including steps and benches
  • Whether the waterline tile and the coping are replaced or kept
  • How much prep the old surface needs before the new finish goes on

Your comparison page shows each quote's price per square foot of pool surface, so a bigger scope and a pricier one are easy to tell apart.

Our sample report uses a roof job with made-up companies and made-up prices. Your pool resurfacing page has the same layout, with the line items for your job.

  • Totals, price per square foot and the lowest, median and highest quote
  • Google rating with the review count, and years licensed from the state file
  • What each quote left out, plus the questions to ask about it
  • Warranty, start window and every line item, side by side

Clear about what this is.

What you get

  • Your spec sent to up to 8 licensed pool contractors, each with a license number on file.

What we do not do

  • We are not a contractor and not a licensed home improvement contractor.
  • We do not negotiate prices or manage the job.
  • We do not rank the quotes or recommend a pool contractor.
  • We do not share your name, email, phone or street address with pool contractors. You choose who to contact.

Questions

Why pay when pool contractors quote for free?

Free quotes often come with a sales visit, follow-up calls and a scope that is different for every pool contractor, so the totals are hard to compare. Your $99 pays us to write one spec, ask up to 8 licensed pool contractors to price that same spec in writing, and line up their answers item by item. Your phone number stays with us.

Will pool contractors call me?

No. Pool contractors do not get your name, email, phone or street address from us. Their replies come to us and show up on your private page. If you like a quote, tap "Introduce me" and we pass your name and email (and your phone, only if you choose) to that one pool contractor. Nothing is shared with the others.

Will I really get 5 quotes?

We ask up to 8 licensed pool contractors, aiming for 5 written quotes. Not every pool contractor replies, which is why the money-back guarantee exists: if fewer than 3 quotes arrive within 10 days of sending, you get the full $99 back automatically.

Plaster, quartz or pebble: what is the difference?

Plaster is the traditional smooth finish and is usually the lowest-priced. Quartz finishes mix quartz aggregate into the plaster for more color and wear resistance. Pebble finishes use small stones for a textured surface and are usually the highest-priced. We ask each contractor to name the exact product, so you can compare like with like.

Is the waterline tile included?

Only if the quote says so. Some quotes replace it, some clean it and some leave it out. We ask every contractor to say which, and to name the tile if they are replacing it.

What about the coping?

Coping is the cap around the edge of the pool. We ask each contractor whether they keep, repair or replace it, and with what material, so it does not turn into an extra later.

What is a drain and acid wash, and do I need one?

The pool is drained so the old surface can be cleaned or prepared. An acid wash strips stains and a thin layer of the old surface. Whether yours needs one, or a chip-out or bond coat instead, is a contractor's call. We ask each one to say what prep they include.

What is startup?

A new finish needs careful water chemistry and brushing in the first days after the pool is refilled. Some contractors include this startup, some charge for it and some leave it to you. We ask each one to say plainly.

Do I need to measure the pool?

No. A rough size and shape is enough to quote. Contractors confirm measurements on site before they start.

What do pool contractors see?

Your city and ZIP, the pool details you gave, your photos and the spec. Not your name, email, phone or street address.

How do you choose the pool contractors?

From our list of pool contractors with a Florida license number on file who are based in or near your city. A person reviews each batch before it is sent. Pool contractors cannot pay to be included, and they pay nothing to receive a request or if they are hired.

What if a pool contractor wants to see the pool first?

Some pool contractors will not give a final price without a visit. Their reply shows on your page as wanting to visit first, with their contact details, and you decide whether to call them. We never give them yours.

How do refunds work?

Refunds are automatic. If fewer than 3 quotes arrive within 10 days of sending, we refund the full $99 to your original card. Banks usually show it within 5 to 10 business days. You can also cancel any time before we send your request to pool contractors for a full refund.

What happens to my photos?

We delete our copies 60 days after upload. Pool contractors we contacted keep the request and photos we sent them.

Is the comparison a recommendation?

No. The comparison lines up what each pool contractor wrote. It does not score, rank or recommend anyone. The choice is yours.

Do you work outside Palm Beach County?

Not yet. If you are elsewhere, our free proposal analyzer still works on any quote you already have.
